September 30, 2008 - Whooo Hoooo

Whoooo Hoooo, yeppers, I'm a Grammy again to a beautiful  Madison (Maddie for short).  Her little sister is pretty proud of her. Boy was she worried about the 'baby' crying LOL. Monique our oldest grand daughter just turned 2 on the 20th of Sept.
Meanwhile I have been pretty busy putting jams. Made a really delicious 'Banana Butter', 'Caramel Apple Jam', 'Black Cherry Beet Jam', 'Blackberry Jam', 'Huckleberry Jam' and then today I put up 16 pints and 6 half pint of 'Blackberry Apple' jam. I still have (5) 5-gallon buckets of apples to put up yet. But they are gonna have to wait a couple days, as I am going camping tomorrow (just for one day n night). Maybe I'll get a little tatting done!!! I am really suffering from withdrawals, seeing all the GORGEOUS tatting being done. Can't wait to try some new patterns.
Well it is getting kind of late and I still need to pack up what I'm taking camping. I know there are several of you visiting my blogs, I want to thak you for stopping by!

September 20, 2008 - Flowers

Today is going to be a mixture of flowers.
To start off with,,this is a 'Blue Boy' Bachelor button. It amazes me how such a simple flower can be so pretty!
This is a flower I have always wanted. This is the beginning bud of a 'Disco Belle Mix' Hibiscus. The flowers are pretty good size. I'll have more pics of Hibiscus coming later, that are fully open.

Next we have a white 4 o'clock. I have always loved these since the first time I planted some when we lived in Kansas. In fact I haven't had any since. I really enjoy these bushy plants when in full bloom.
This photo is the inside of a poppy. I'm not sure what variety, other than it definitely isn't an 'Oriental or California'. I think it is either a 'Shirley' or 'Iceland' .

This flower I still have to get identified. It was in with a package of 'Old Fashion Garden Flower Mix' seeds. I think it might be 'Mexican Hat' but not really sure. Will edit the name when I find out. UPDATE: I have found out the name of this flower it is: Plains Coreopsis/CalliopsisCoreopsis tinctoria (Asteraceae).
This unusual photo is a close of a 'Flowering Kale'. These actually can be quite pretty.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments you have been leaving.

September 19,2008 - Sunflowers

WoW I almost forgot to post some new pics for today. Today's photos are of sunflowers. The first two are close-ups. All three are of the same variety actually even though they may not look it. The variety is called 'Red Sun'. Very pretty sunflowers. I'll have more of another variety to post on another date as well as a few more of these.

Thank you to those who have emailed me and left me comments! Your suggests have been very helpful as well as your support!

September 18,2008 - Morning Glories

Today I thought would be a Morning Glory day. Morning Glories seem to be one of them flowers either ya like them or ya just don't like them at all. I myself think they are very pretty. I only wish the flowers would last longer than they do.

These first two are called 'Star Of Yelta' a blue-purple trumpet like flower with red stripes forming a star.

Can you almost smell this first one? The two are called 'Blue Dawn' They are so pretty. And the leaves of this morning aren't the normal 'arrow head' type leaf. These have the arrow head shape but with slits.

This one is kind of unusual. It is called a 'Dwarf Morning Glory' It is a bush type, very pretty and the great part is the flowers do last a little longer as well. They are a lot smaller than the vining variety.

Have a Blessed day! RRose Connie

September 17, 2008 - Zinnias

A few more of my recent photos. I know a lot a folks do not like or care for the Zinnia,,,but they can be really pretty and a great edition to any garden, flower or vegetable!

This one is called 'Candy Stripes' I love the orange on yellow instead of the usual red on yellow I see a lot.

These next two are called 'Giant Violet Queen' zinnias. They do get pretty huge too!!
I do hope you were blessed by today's photos. Thank you very much for stopping by and your wonderful comments.

Blessings! RRose Connie

Hello and Welcome!!!

Hello and Welcome to my new blog!

I have been doing some thinking lately about my photography and what I could do with it. I really enjoy photography, but more on a 'hobby' basis rather than the 'professional' side. One just never knows what will happen though.

I hope all who stop by will enjoy my photos as much as I do taking them. I'm sure I won't be posting new photos everyday or even every week. But will I will try to add frequently.

Thank you again for stopping by. Please do leave comments when stopping by. They are appreciated!

Blessings, RRose Connie
