November 7, 2008 - Turtle Nesting Series

I thought I would share a series I did up from some photos I took a few years ago of a 'Northern Painted Turtle' nesting.

Meet our new Mom, the 'Northern Painted Turtle'

Mom now backed into position and digging out the nest,,,,

Almost done digging,,,,

Fillin' er up now,,,,,

One more should just about do it,,,,

All full, now for the covering up, then will be all finish!LOL Now I ask,,,"Where did she have all those???"
Note: I can't figure out why, but the last photo got rotated.

I hope you enjoyed this series as much as I did photographing it.

November 6, 2008 ~ Butterflies

Here a few photos of a couple different butterflies I photograph in my garden this summer. At first I thought maybe they were male (the smaller lighter colored ones) and female (the larger yellow ones). But turns out I am told, the larger yellows are "Tiger Swallowtail" and the smaller lighter ones are "Zebra" They sure did pose nicely for me LOL!!!

Here are two photos of the 'Tiger Swallowtail'. I Just love the coloring by the tails!

Here are the 'Zebra' butterflies. I'm not if they are called 'Zebra Swallowtail' or just 'Zebra' butterflies.

I hope you enjoyed today's photos. Please do leave comments, I do enjoy reading them and would like to get to know my viewers.
Blessings,
~~Rainbow Rose Connie

September 30, 2008 - Whooo Hoooo

Whoooo Hoooo, yeppers, I'm a Grammy again to a beautiful  Madison (Maddie for short).  Her little sister is pretty proud of her. Boy was she worried about the 'baby' crying LOL. Monique our oldest grand daughter just turned 2 on the 20th of Sept.
Meanwhile I have been pretty busy putting jams. Made a really delicious 'Banana Butter', 'Caramel Apple Jam', 'Black Cherry Beet Jam', 'Blackberry Jam', 'Huckleberry Jam' and then today I put up 16 pints and 6 half pint of 'Blackberry Apple' jam. I still have (5) 5-gallon buckets of apples to put up yet. But they are gonna have to wait a couple days, as I am going camping tomorrow (just for one day n night). Maybe I'll get a little tatting done!!! I am really suffering from withdrawals, seeing all the GORGEOUS tatting being done. Can't wait to try some new patterns.
Well it is getting kind of late and I still need to pack up what I'm taking camping. I know there are several of you visiting my blogs, I want to thak you for stopping by!
